About Kesar Sweets & Restaurant
Kesar ("saffron") is a fully vegetarian Indian restaurant and sweet shop in north Brampton, open since 2017. It's two businesses in one: a sit-down restaurant with seating for more than 50, and a mithai (sweets) counter that gets extremely busy before Diwali, Raksha Bandhan and Lohri.
What to order
- Weekday specials: rajma chawal (kidney-bean curry with rice) on Tuesdays, and sarson da saag with makki di roti and lassi on Wednesdays, a Punjabi winter classic
- Chaat and North Indian vegetarian dishes
- Mithai: boxes of handmade Indian sweets, especially at festival time
- Chai, which is well regarded
Good to know
- Open seven days: Sunday to Thursday 10 am to 9:30 pm, and Friday and Saturday 10 am to 10 pm. It's open for breakfast too.
- It also offers catering and a tiffin (meal subscription) service.
- It holds a Diwali Sweets Mela every year. Order your boxes early.
